Film I

Wedding highlight film editing

A short film of the whole day, set to music, with a few spoken lines carrying the story from getting ready to the send-off.

What a highlight film is

A highlight film is the version people actually rewatch and share. It usually runs a few minutes and moves through the day in order: details and getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, the reception and the exit. Music sets the pace. Two or three spoken lines, often from the vows or a toast, give it a spine, so it plays as the story of your day.

Length is up to you. Some couples want something short enough to post, others want a longer cut for the family. Tell us in the brief and we plan the card around it.

Choosing the spoken lines

We listen through the vows, the toasts and any letters read aloud, then send you a short list of lines with where each came from. You pick, or let us choose. A line only works if the sound is clear, so we check the source before suggesting it. A great sentence recorded on a camera at the back of a loud hall may not make the cut, and we'll say so.

Music

Send one or two songs you like. If the film will be posted online, use music you hold a license for, since platforms can mute or block a video with unlicensed songs. We can also cut to a track from a licensed library you use. Pace follows the song: a slow ballad makes for long, lingering shots, while an upbeat track wants quicker cuts.

Footage that cuts well

  • Wide shots that set each place: the venue, the aisle, the room before guests arrive
  • Close details: rings, hands, invitations, the cake, shoes, flowers
  • Reactions from the front row and the wedding party
  • The walk back up the aisle and the moment right after
  • A few seconds held steady before and after each move

Nobody gets all of these. We build from what you send and flag gaps early.

Versions

Common outputs are the full highlight film, a vertical cut for sharing on phones, and a short teaser of under a minute. Each one is listed in the quote.

Questions

Can you include footage from guest phones?

Yes. Vertical phone clips can sit inside a wide frame or be cropped, depending on what is in the shot.

Can we see a draft before it is finished?

Yes. You review a first cut on a private link and leave notes at exact moments, and we make changes from there.
